Death of Member: Bro Alec Elwell
It is with great regret and sadness that I have to inform you of the death of our member, Brother Alec Elwell, who sadly passed away aged 48 on 16 January 2021, following a short battle with Covid-19.
Alec joined London Fire Brigade in 2001 serving at Dowgate, Kentish Town and Bow, before transferring to Staffordshire in 2005. Alec served at Stafford, Rugeley, Cannock, Burton and recently took promotion at Hanley as a Crew Manager. Alec leaves behind his fiancée Kirsty and his two Children Ellisia and Theo.
Everyone in the FBU sends Alec’s family, friends, and colleagues our condolences, solidarity and support at this very sad time.
FBU officials at local and national level are liaising to ensure all necessary steps are taken to provide support to family and colleagues.
The Union has set up a memorial fund in Alec’s memory and will remain open for donations until 20 April 2021. If you wish to support the fund you can donate via the details below:
