Access the LRD Pay & Conditions Database

It provides those engaged in negotiations with:

  • information on nationally agreed terms and conditions in the Fire Service
  • details of local variations in the Fire Service and
  • similar information across the whole economy

With the help of brigade officials the database includes extensive coverage of local arrangements for maternity, paternity, parental leave, adoption and other issues linked to childcare, duty systems, overtime arrangements, disciplinary procedures, special leave provision, time off for public duties, career break arrangements, allowances, and union facilities agreements.

The service also includes information on expenses, standby and callout, flexible working, dependency leave, grievance procedures, job sharing, health and safety, equal opportunities, bullying and harassment, and whistleblowing.

The service also provides a link to the full text of around 600 local documents covering alcohol and drugs misuse, allowances, incentives and fees, appointment, recruitment and selection, bullying and harassment, career breaks, discipline, conduct and capability, dismissal, equal opportunities, expenses, external income and employment, flexible working, grievance, health and safety, holidays and annual leave, job sharing, maternity, mileage allowances, overtime, parental leave, paternity and maternity support, pornography, promotion, relocation, retained fees and arrangements, sick pay and sickness absence, special leave, standby/recall to duty, training and development, union recognition and facilities, whistleblowing, and working patterns/duty systems.

The service provides a link to the full text of the nationally agreed pay and conditions arrangements – the Grey Book – plus a series of pay and conditions reports, looking at key negotiating issues.

Please use the database and, if you find the entry for your brigade is less than complete, please send us any missing policies.
