PAY ARRANGEMENTS 2017
Following a 21-day consultation, the Executive Council decided the union position in respect of the arrangements for pay 2017.
Members will be aware that following the outcome of the membership consultation on the employers’ offer made on 1 July 2017, that the employers suggested that an uplift of 1% be applied whilst discussions continued to find a final settlement for 2017.
This was outlined by the employers in a letter dated 19 September 2017.
The Executive Council sought clarification of the status of the 1% in a letter dated 23 October 2017, from the General Secretary as the Joint Secretary of the Employees’ side of the NJC.
The employers provided the clarifications in their response dated 1 November 2017.
The decision of the employees’ side of the NJC has been communicated to the employers’ side and agreement has been reached that pay and CPD rates will be uplifted by 1% effective from 1 July 2017. For the avoidance of doubt, this is not a final settlement in respect of 2017.
