ANNUAL CONFERENCE OPENS TOMORROW

FBU Annual Conference starts tomorrow in Southport, where delegates representing members from across the UK will debate and make decisions on key workplace campaigns.

On the agenda are pensions and how to take our strategy forward; next steps on our IRMP, health and safety and emergency fire control campaigns. The order of business is as follows:

Tuesday 10 May

• Am – conference opens, financials matters

• Pm – pay and other issues dealt with through the NJC

Wednesday 11 May

• Am - Rules revision

• Pm - Pensions and policies linked to wider trade union and labour movement. TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber will be addressing the Conference.

Thurs 12 May

• Am – Health & safety, fire safety, IRMPs

• Pm – Campaign against regionalisation of emergency fire controls.

Friday 13 May

• Education & Training

Standing orders sits 5-8pm on Monday. No emergency resolutions can be accepted after then.

The FBU website (www.fbu.org.uk) will carry information on decisions made at conference.
FBU membership survey – last call for replies!

Any members who have not yet completed and returned the Union’s membership survey are asked to do so today. Remember also to include the prize draw slip with your membership and contact details. The winners will be announced this Thursday at Annual Conference.
