Dear Brother/Sister,
SUSPENSION OF INDUSTRIAL ACTION
Members have been informed of the industrial action consisting of a strike and action short of a strike following the two ballots respectively.
As the person authorised to make the call for industrial action following these ballots, I confirm that both the strike and action short of a strike are now temporarily suspended until further notice.
This does not mean that these disputes have been resolved. It means that sufficient progress has been made in discussions that the action may be temporarily suspended. Talks will continue to proceed in an effort to resolve the disputes both of which continue in existence until final settlement is reached. As matters stand, therefore, and pending final agreement, the suspension is temporary.
It is to be hoped that agreement can be reached to resolve these disputes but, if not, either or both forms of industrial action may be reinstated at any stage without the requirement for any further ballots.
In the circumstances, and until further notice from me as the person authorised to make the call for industrial action following the respective ballots, I confirm members should now be working normally.
Members will be informed shortly whether final agreement has been reached to resolve these disputes.
Best wishes.
Yours fraternally,
MATT WRACK
General Secretary
